Richard R. Reithal, 91 years of age, of Waxahachie, Texas
Richard was the youngest son born to George and Jane nee Harrington Reithal in Chicago, IL on July 24, 1923. After attending Holy Ghost Grade School and Austin High School, Richard continued technical studies out of state. He married his loving wife of 64 years on June 11, 1950, Florence nee Freitag who survives. He was a resident of Mount Prospect and parishioner of St. Raymond’s Church for almost sixty years. While in the US Army in World War II he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, specifically the Phillipines. He is preceded in death by his sister, Josephine.
Richard’s greatest pride was demonstrated when he spoke of his five children; Roberta (Willie) Harris, Richard (Ana) Reithal II, Suzanne (Jim) Sims, Kathryn (Tom) Reithal-Makeever, and Frances Reithal and twelve grandchildren; Matthew , Elizabeth, and Mary Kathryn Harris, Adam and Erika Sims, Richard Robert and Nicole Ariana Reithal, Emily Makeever, Alaina, Cassandra, Anna, and Daniel Cira.
Richard was a true patriot – proud of his country and politically active to support his beliefs in the freedoms of the US Constitution. He was a member of the American Legion Post 525, enjoying the comradery and was in more parades than one can count.
Lying in State Friday 8:30 AM until Mass 10:00 AM at St. Raymond de Penafort Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt83) at Lincoln St., Mt. Prospect. Interment Memory Gardens.

Richard will be best remembered for his love for God, his wife, family and his patriotism as well as his keen sense of humor and willingness to help others. As he would encourage others when unexpected things happened, may we all remember “It’s all in the Book”.
